Character: Rich, fruity, mildly spicy Trappist character; robust in a big wort.
The Westmalle strain in Wyeast form, the counterpart to WLP530, and the robust high-gravity choice for a tripel, quad or dark strong ale where a weaker strain would stall. It carries rich fruit and mild spice and holds up in a big wort thanks to its 12% tolerance. Feed and oxygenate a strong batch so it finishes dry.
